Effortlessly sample surfaces for environmental monitoring after cleaning and disinfection using Thermo Scientific™ Tryptone Soy Agar with Disinhibitor PLUS Triple Wrap Irradiated (TWI) Contact Plates, containing Lecithin, polysorbate 80, sodium thiosulfate and Tween 80 to neutralize surface disinfectants and aid in microorganism recovery. The addition of sodium thiosulfate is in line with International pharmacopeia requirements.

Streamline environmental monitoring of cleanroom environments with Thermo Scientific™ Tryptone Soy Agar with Disinhibitor PLUS Triple Wrap Irradiated (TWI) Contact Plates for surface sampling.

  • Secure: dome-shaped bottom prevents agar from falling out of the dish.
  • Easy-to-handle: GripFit™ technology ensures the lid remains in place during handling while being easily removed during environmental monitoring.
  • Straightforward results interpretation: inner layer on the plate base is sub-divided into grids to allow easy calculation of colony forming units (CFU) from surface tests, enabling labs to report whether contaminant levels fall within pre-defined acceptable limits.
  • Easy–to-stack: provides more stability during handling and transport, and ventilation is reduced to prevent plates from drying out.
  • Consistent: manufactured using a specialized, automated procedure to ensure a smooth, evenly distributed layer of agar on each plate.

Surface sampling is achieved by gently rolling the domed surface of the agar onto the area to be tested. If any microorganisms that can cause disease or infection are present, they will grow to form easily visible colonies on the surface of the agar. This offers a reliable and effective way of determining the microbial cleanliness of surface areas and help control invisible dangers associated with microbial contamination. Clearly visible growth is available within three days for bacteria and within five days for fungi.
