Description

Isolate and presumptively identify coliforms and intestinal pathogens in water, dairy and biological samples with this differential, ready-to-use medium.

Isolate and presumptively identify coliforms and intestinal pathogens in water, dairy and biological samples with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ MacConkey Agar with Salt. Owing to its ability to support the growth of pathogenic Gram-positive cocci as well as Enterobacteriaceae, the medium is particularly recommended for the cultivation pathogens from clinical specimens. MacConkey Agar with Salt also provides a number of diagnostic differentiators such as bile tolerance, colony morphology and chromogenesis.

Use MacConkey Agar with Salt as a differential medium for the isolation of coliforms and intestinal pathogens in water, dairy and biological samples.

  • Cultivate pathogens from clinical specimens and dairy products.
  • Conduct water testing for coliforms and pathogens.
  • Use in parallel with other selective indicator media such as Desoxycholate Citrate Agar, Bismuth Sulphite Agar, Brilliant Green Agar, and a non-selective medium such as Blood Agar.
  • Ready-to-use convenience of prepared media.
