Description

Bcl-2, Bax, and Bcl-X are members of a family of proteins that regulate apoptosis. In contrast to Bcl-2α and Bcl-XL, overexpression of bax protein accelerates the programmed cell death (apoptosis).

Species Reactivity: Human. Does not react with mouse and rat. Others not tested.

Epitope: aa 3-16

Immunogen: A synthetic peptide, aa 3-16 (Cys-GSGEQPRGGGPTSS) of human Bax protein. This amino acid sequence is not shared by mouse and rat Bax protein.

Molecular Weight: 21kDa

Positive Control: HeLa cells, Hodgkin's lymphoma
