Thermo Scientific™ D.C.L.S. Agar
Description
Isolate and enumerate pathogenic Enterobacteriaceae with Thermo Scientific™ Oxoid™ D.C.L.S. Agar (Desoxycholate, Citrate, Lactose, Sucrose). Due to the presence of sucrose in the medium, sucrose fermenting organisms such as Proteus, Enterobacter and Klebsiella form red colored colonies. Due to the selective nature of the medium, it allows the growth of Vibrio species, as well as salmonellae and shigellae, while inhibiting the growth of most Escherichia coli.
Use D.C.L.S. Agar for improved identification of pathogenic Enterobacteriaceae.
- Easy-to-read: sucrose fermenting organisms such as Proteus, Enterobacter and Klebsiella form red colored colonies
- Reduces false-positive subcultures when picking through color recognition.
- Selects for salmonellae and shigellae, while inhibiting Escherichia coli.
- Ready-to-use convenience of prepared media.
