Whatman Aqueous and Solvent IFD Inline Filter Degassers
Provide microfiltration of aqueous- and solvent-based HPLC mobile phases based on principle of “bubble point.” Pressure on the upstream side of the degasser is kept below the bubble-point pressure, so gases will not displace liquid from membrane pores of the filter. The Aqueous IFD contains nylon filter media and is suited for mobile phases containing at least 20% of the aqueous component. The Solvent IFD uses a polypropylene filter media and works for mobile phases containing at least 30% of the organic component. Integrity testable. Degassers feature chemical-resistant polypropylene housing sealed by a security ring, air vent on inlet with Luer Lock cap, and O-ring that accepts 1/16 to 5/16 in. (1.6 to 7.9mm) tubing. Solvent-resistant connectors included.
Filters may last up to one week if same solvent is used. Replace filters after filtration of 1 gal. (4L) of mobile phase, or when mobile phase is changed.
