Description
VAV1/2/3 Recombinant Monoclonal Antibody for Western Blot, ICC/IF
The VAV gene family consists of three members: VAV1, VAV2, and VAV3, which are guanine nucleotide exchange factors (GEFs) primarily involved in signal transduction. VAV1, located on chromosome 19p13.2, is predominant in hematopoietic cells and plays a crucial role in T and B lymphocyte signaling, impacting immune responses and cell cycle control. This gene has been implicated in autoimmune diseases as well as several cancers. VAV2, found on chromosome 9q34.1, is ubiquitously expressed and is involved in various cellular processes, such as DNA repair mechanisms and vascular smooth muscle function, with significant implications in cancer where overexpression correlates with tumor progression. VAV3, located on chromosome 1p13.3, shares similar GEF roles and is actively involved in oncogenic processes by mediating Rho GTPase signaling, affecting cell proliferation, migration, and invasion, and is considered a target for cancer therapy. The structural conservation and functional diversity of these proteins underscore their importance in both normal cellular function and disease.
