Triethyl phosphate is a useful synthetic intermediate used in the synthesis of mesoporous spheres of metal oxides and phosphates. It is also used as an industrial catalyst employed in ketene synthesis where the compound is hydrolyzed, as a polymer resin modifier, as a solvent, a car paint repairing product and as flame retarder
