Rapidly detect multiple genetic targets for Shiga-toxin producing Escherichia coli O157:H7 and other STEC in food and environmental samples with the Thermo Scientific™ SureTect™ Escherichia coli O157:H7 and STEC PCR workflow. 

The assay has been AOAC-RI and AFNOR (ISO 16140-2) :2016 validated on a range of food, including dairy samples as well as low and high sample sizes of raw meat (excluding poultry), vegetables, fruits and, juices., and dairy samples and It enables users to reliably detect and differentiate Shiga-toxin producing Escherichia coli O157:H7 and other STEC in as little as 10 hours.

The Thermo Scientific SureTect Escherichia coli STEC Identification PCR Assay Kit includes:

The lysate of screened positive samples is pipetted into the SureTect Escherichia coli STEC Identification PCR tube to re-hydrate the pre-loaded PCR pellet which contains all the necessary components and reagents for PCR, including a probe, primers and DNA template for the internal amplification control (IAC). The PCR tubes are then sealed, loaded into Applied Biosystems™ QuantStudio™ 5 Food Safety Real Time PCR instrument used with RapidFinder™ Analysis Software v2.0 or later. After completing the run, interpreted results are clearly displayed and can be reported, stored, printed or downloaded as required. The internal amplification control confirms correct assay conditions have occurred.
