It is also used as wetting agent, detergent, dispersant, emulsifier, degreasing agent, hard surface cleaner, lime soap dispersant, alkaline detergent, cleaning agent for metal processing in electroplating, latex, metal processing, paper, polymer synthesis, textile, leather and other industries. It finds application as an anionic detergent and ion -pairing reagent used in high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
