Sodium L-(+)-tartrate is used as an emulsifier, as a food additives, binding agent in food products like jellies, margarine and sausage casings. It is utilized as a common primary standard for Karl Fischer titration to measure the water content. It is also used as buffers for molecular biology and cell culture applications.
