FGF acidic/FGF1 protein is fully biologically active when compared to standard. The ED50 as determined by a cell proliferation assay using murine balb/c 3T3 cells is less than 0.5 ng/mL, corresponding to a specific activity of > 2.0 x 10^6 IU/mg in the presence of 10 μg/mL of heparin.
