Description
Rat MCP-1 Recombinant Protein, RRMCP110, from Invitrogen.
This gene is one of several cytokine genes clustered on the q-arm of chromosome 17. Cytokines are a family of secreted proteins involved in immunoregulatory and inflammatory processes. The protein encoded by this gene is structurally related to the CXC subfamily of cytokines. Members of this subfamily are characterized by two cysteines separated by a single amino acid. This cytokine displays chemotactic activity for monocytes and basophils but not for neutrophils or eosinophils. It has been implicated in the pathogenesis of diseases characterized by monocytic infiltrates, like psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis and atherosclerosis. It binds to chemokine receptors CCR2 and CCR4.Host Species: E. Coli
Formulation: 10μg purified protein and no preservative
RRMCP110 contains 125 amino acid residues. Endotoxin level is <1 EU/ug. Purity: >97% pure by SDS-PAGE and HPLC analyses. Activity: The maximal chemotactic activity on human monocytes is achieved at 100 ng/ml. Reconstitution and Dilution: Reconstitute in distilled water to a concentration of 100 ug/ml. After reconstitution, dilute cytokine in a neutral buffer containing carrier protein such as 5-10% FBS or 1-4% high purity BSA (fatty acid free fraction V). Lyophilized product is stable until expiration if stored desiccated below 0ºC. Cytokines diluted as indicated above should be divided into aliquots and stored at -70ºC. Recombinant proteins should be stored at concentrations >500 ng/ml to reduce loss of activity.
