Polydimethylsiloxane, trimethylsiloxy terminated, M.W. 2000
Description
Polydimethylsiloxane, trimethylsiloxy terminated is widely used as a common surfactant. It is an active component of defoamers which suppresses the formation of foams and is a critical ingredient in water-repelling coatings as an active silicone fluid. It finds application in optic telecommunications, biomedical research, elasticity of polymer networks, adhesive materials and in skin-moisturizing lotions. Furthermore, it is used as a filler fluid in breast implants and as a sorbent for the analysis of headspace (dissolved gas analysis) of food.
