Description

This antibody is predicted to react with Monkey, Bovine, and Mouse. Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems. The expression systems are developed by cloning in the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Then, individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production. The advantages of using recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies include: better specificity and sensitivity, lot-to-lot consistency, animal origin-free formulations, and broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire.

AS160 (TBC1D4) is a GTPase-activiting protein for RAB2A, RAB8A, RAB10, and RAB14. The isoform 2 version of this protein promotes the insulin-induced glucose transporter SLC2A4/GLUT4 translocation at the plasma membrane. This movement increases glucose uptake. Mutations associated with the gene cause Diabetes mellitus, non-insulin-dependent, 5 (NIDDM5).
