Mouse: 99% identity (125/126 amino acids identical). Human: 99% identity (125/126 amino acids identical) >40% identity with Neuroligin-2 and -3. 2 μg/mL of MA5-45687 was sufficient for detection of Neuroligin-1 in 20 μg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 120kDa. Does not cross-react with other Neuroligins. This antibody was formerly sold as clone S97A-31.

This gene encodes a member of a family of neuronal cell surface proteins. Members of this family may act as splice site-specific ligands for beta-neurexins and may be involved in the formation and remodeling of central nervous system synapses.
