MAP2 Mouse, Clone: AP20, eBioscience™
Description
The monoclonal antibody AP20 recognizes the high molecular weight isoforms of microtubule-associated protein-2 (MAP2a and MAP2b) of human, rat, mouse, bovine, chicken, and xenopus. MAP2 belongs to a family of heat-stable phosphoproteins that are differentially expressed during brain development. MAP2 expression is localized to the cell body and dendrites of neurons and is involved in stabilizing microtubules by crosslinking with intermediate filaments. Expression of MAP2 is commonly used as a neural marker given that its expression becomes more pronounced with neuronal maturation.
