Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody

PA1-331B detects recombinant human liver X receptor (LXR). PA1-331B has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects an ~64 kDa and ~80 kDa protein representing recombinant human LXR alpha and beta. The PA1-331B immunogen is a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues C L(432) R L Q D K K L P P L L S E(445) of human LXR alpha. This sequence also corresponds to amino acids 442-455 of the human LXR beta. PA1-331B immunizing peptide (Cat. # PEP-115) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.

NR1H3 (oxysterols receptor LXR-alpha) is a nuclear receptor that exhibits a ligand-dependent transcriptional activiation activity. Its interaction with retinoic acid receptor (RXR) shifts RXR from its role as a silent DNA-binding partner to an active ligand-binding subunit in mediating retinoid responses through target genes defined by LXRES. LXRES are DR4-type response elements characterized by direct repeats of two similar hexanucleotide half-sites spaced by four nucleotides. NR1H3 plays an important role in the regulation of cholesterol homeostasis, regulating cholesterol uptake through MYLIP-dependent ubiqutination of LDLR, VLDLR, and LRP8. It also interplays functionally with RORA for the regulation of genes involves in liver metabolism.
