Description
Lutetium(III) chloride hexahydrate is used as a catalyst and laboratory reagent. It is also used in ceramics, optical glasses, electrical components and photo-optical material. It is one of the components of scintillating composition. It serves as a precursor for the preparation of other lutetium complexes. It finds application as one of the starting materials for aluminate phosphors.
