Recombinant Protein

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (39%), Rat (39%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-60032 (PA5-60032. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

This gene belongs to the S100 fused-type protein (SFTP) gene family, and is located in a cluster of SFTP genes on chromosome 1q21. Several members of this family have been implicated in the development of complex skin disorders. This gene is evolutionarily conserved; its expression appears to be hair-specific and spatially restricted within the distal inner root sheath of the hair follicle.
