Quantity:
100 μL
Unit Size:
100µL
Description
Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (52%), Rat (52%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-63394 (PA5-63394. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
TAS2R41 is a receptor that may play a role in the perception of bitterness and belongs to the G-protein receptor superfamily. TAS2R41 is expressed mainly in taste receptor cells of the tongue and the palate eptithelia. Structurally, the TAS2R41 gene encodes a seven trans-membrane receptor protein and is clustered together with eight other taste receptor genes on chromosome 7. The compound chloramphenicol is an agonist for the TAS2R41 protein. Further, TAS2R41 may play a role in sensing the chemical composition of the gastrointestinal content. The activity of TAS2R41 may stimulate alpha gustducin, mediate PLC-beta-2 activation and lead to the gating of TRPM5. TAS2R41 is expressed in subsets of taste receptor cells of the tongue and exclusively in gustducin-positive cells. Most taste cells may be activated by a limited number of bitter compounds; individual taste cells can discriminate among bitter stimuli.
