This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-58550 (PA5-58550. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

Recruited to actin-patches that seed filopodia, binds specifically to plasma membrane sections that are deformed inward by acto-myosin mediated contractile forces. Acts through GAP activity on RAC1 to reduce actin polymerization necessary for filopodia formation. In association with SHANK3, promotes GRIA1 exocytosis from recycling endosomes and spine morphological changes associated to long-term potentiation. [UniProt]
