The Human Interleukin-6 (Hu IL-6) ELISA quantitates Hu IL-6 in human serum, plasma, urine, or cell culture medium. The assay will exclusively recognize both natural and recombinant Hu IL-6. Principle of the method The Human IL-6 solid-phase sandwich ELISA (enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) is designed to measure the amount of the target bound between a matched antibody pair. A target-specific antibody has been pre-coated in the wells of the supplied microplate. Samples, standards, or controls are then added into these wells and bind to the immobilized (capture) antibody. The sandwich is formed by the addition of the second (detector) antibody, a substrate solution is added that reacts with the enzyme-antibody-target complex to produce measurable signal. The intensity of this signal is directly proportional to the concentration of target present in the original specimen. Rigorous validation Each manufactured lot of this ELISA kit is quality tested for criteria such as sensitivity, specificity, precision, and lot-to-lot consistency. These human IL-6 ELISA kits use pre-titered, matched pairs of coating and detection antibodies to achieve sensitive and accurate measurement of interleukin-6 (IL-6) in samples at 50 to 100μL per well. Also included are calibrated recombinant protein standard, streptavidin-HRP, TMB substrate solution and stop solution. The complete kits contain precoated 96-well strip plate(s) and lot-optimized reagents. The economically-priced reagent kit provides validated reagents only, requiring users to coat their own plates. The antibody-pair kit consists of the matched IL-6 antibody pairs and IL-6 standard only. All components undergo quality control testing to minimize lot-to-lot variability.
