Recombinant Protein

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (84%), Rat (84%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-82160 (PA5-82160. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the HMG-CoA lyase family. It is a mitochondrial enzyme that catalyzes the final step of leucine degradation and plays a key role in ketone body formation. Mutations in this gene are associated with HMG-CoA lyase deficiency. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene.
