Recombinant Protein

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (65%), Rat (65%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-111109 (PA5-111109. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

The protein encoded by this gene is a receptor for activated protein C, a serine protease activated by and involved in the blood coagulation pathway. The encoded protein is an N-glycosylated type I membrane protein that enhances the activation of protein C. Mutations in this gene have been associated with venous thromboembolism and myocardial infarction, as well as with late fetal loss during pregnancy.
