Description
Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (84%), Rat (84%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-84808 (PA5-84808. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.
This gene encodes one of five subunits of eukaryotic translation initiation factor 2B, a GTP exchange factor for eukaryotic initiation factor 2 and an essential regulator for protein synthesis. Mutations in this gene and the genes encoding other EIF2B subunits have been associated with leukoencephalopathy with vanishing white matter.
