This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-83198 (PA5-83198. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

This gene encodes a member of the doublecortin family. The protein encoded by this gene contains two doublecortin domains. The doublecortin domain has been demonstrated to bind tubulin and enhance microtubule polymerization. Mutations in this gene have been associated with Reading Disability, also referred to as developmental dyslexia. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
