Recombinant Protein

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (100%), Rat (100%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-53526 (PA5-53526. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

CDK5RAP2 is a regulator of CDK5 (cyclin-dependent kinase 5) activity. The protein is localized to the centrosome and Golgi complex and interacts with CDK5R1 and pericentrin (PCNT). CDK5RAP2 plays a role in centriole engagement and microtubule nucleation, and has been linked to primary microcephaly and Alzheimer's disease. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants.
