Recombinant Protein

Highest antigen sequence indentity to the following orthologs: Mouse (67%), Rat (67%). This recombinant protein control fragment may be used for blocking experiments with the corresponding antibody, PA5-84182 (PA5-84182. In IHC/ICC and WB experiments, we recommend a 100x molar excess of the protein fragment control based on the concentration and the molecular weight. Pre-incubate the antibody-protein control fragment mixture for 30 min at room temperature.

CD205 (LY25, Lymphocyte Antigen 75) is an integral membrane glycoprotein involved in antigen uptake, trafficking and presentation that improves the induction of antigen-specific T cell immunity. CD205 is highly expressed by CD8+ dendritic cells (DCs) and also expressed at different levels by bone marrow Gr1+ cells, Langerhans cells, (BMDC) bone marrow derived DCs and thymic epithelial cells. CD205 acts as an endocytic receptor that directs captured antigens to the extracellular space towards a specialized antigen processing region. Further, CD205 also prompts the reduced proliferation of B lymphocytes. Diseases associated with CD205 dysfunction include pneumonic plague and lipid pneumonia.
