• Recognizes human CCL20
• CCL20 (MIP-3 alpha) is a chemokine expressed mainly in lymphatic tissue, lung and liver produced cells related with inflammation and autoimmune response (endothelial cells, neutrophils, NK, Th17 cells and B cells)
  • Contributes to inflammatory cell recruitment
  • Selectively signals through receptor CCR6
  • Ligand-receptor pair CCL20/CCR6 responsible for chemoattraction of immature dendritic cells, effector/memory T cells and B cells
    • Serves role in skin and mucosal surfaces under homeostatic and inflammatory conditons, pathological processes (associated with cancer and rheumatoid arthritis)

Process:

• Antibody specific for CCL20 pre-coated onto microwells
• CCL20 protein in samples captured by the coated antibody after incubation
• After extensive washing, another antibody of biotinylated specific for human CCL20 is added to detect captured human CCL20 protein
• For signal development, Streptavidin-HRP is added, followed by Tetramethyl-benzidine (TMB) reagent
• Solution containing sulfuric acid used to stop color development and color intensity
  • Proportional to quantity of bound protein, measurable at 450 nm with correction wavelength set at 630 nm
