Description

Allows the rapid detection of fluoride ions in solutions containing hydrochlorid acid. Macherey-Nagel™ Fluoride Qualitative Test Paper is suitable for the safe and easy detection of dangerous hydrofluoric acid, which is used for example in computer chip production.

  • Simply add a drop of the hydrochlorid acid solution (pH ≤ 1) to the test paper and read immediately
  • High concentrations of fluorides are indicated by the appearance of a yellowish-white spot
  • Lesser amounts of flourides are indicated by a yellowish-white ring
  • Complex-bound fluoride ions react in the same manner as free fluoride ions
  • Limit of sensitivity: 20mg/L (ppm)
  • Interferences:
    • Chlorates and bromates; interference is eliminated by adding sodium dithionite (Na2S2O4)
    • Sulfate in very large amounts; interference can be eliminated by adding barium chloride
