Dräger™ Short-Term Detector Tubes - n-Octane
Description
The Petroleum Hydrocarbons 10/a detector tube is a glass vial filled with a chemical reagent designed for the determination of air contaminants in the workplace.
- Detection Principle: Colorimetric chemical sensor (C8H18 + I2O5 → I2); the concentration is directly indicated by the length of the color change from white to brownish-green.
- Standard Measuring Range: 10 ppm to 300 ppm (for n-octane).
- Measurement Time: Approximately 1 min.
- Number of Strokes (n): 2.
- Sample Volume: 100 mL.
- Standard Deviation: ±25%.
- Operating Temperature: 15°C to 30°C.
- Operating Humidity: 1 to 20 mg H2O/L.
- Cross-Sensitivity: Indicates various organic and inorganic compounds in addition to n-octane, including n-hexane, n-heptane, iso-octane, n-nonane, perchloroethylene, and CO.
- Compatibility: Used manually with the Dräger Accuro™ bellows pump or automatically with the Accuro 2000 pump and Quantimeter 1000.
- Applications: Determination of concentration peaks, exposure measurements in the inhalation area, leak detection, and analysis of air in sewers, shafts, tanks, or other confined spaces.
- Extension of measuring range listed is possible for some detector tubes. Call Fisher Scientific™ at 1-800-772-6733 for more information.
- Safety Equipment Institute (SEI) certified.
