DMOG is an α-ketoglutarate analogue and inhibits α-KG-dependent hydroxylases. DMOG acts as a pro-angiogenic agent and plays a protective role in experimental model of colitis and diarrhoea via HIF-1 related signal. DMOG induces cell autophagy.
