Recombinant Protein

For maximum recovery please spin prior to use. Unless noted below, aliquots of the 5 μg, 10 μg and 20 μg sizes of kinase are not recommended as materials can be used in original packaging until exhausted. For larger sizes, the number of freeze/thaws may be reduced by preparing aliquots, aliquots below 20 μL are not recommended. Please never store a kinase diluted. If properly stored at -80C, this product is guaranteed for 6 months from date of purchase. This DCAMKL1 (DCLK1) recombinant human protein (full length) was expressed in insect cells. DCAMKL1 (DCLK1) recombinant human protein is also available in our SelectScreen™ Kinase Profiling Service. Validated for use with the Z'-LYTE™ assay Available in multiple pack sizes for convenient use Also available in our SelectScreen Kinase Profiling Service Protein Form: Full Length, Recombinant, Active The gene accession number for DCAMKL1 (DCLK1) is NP_004725.1.

DCAMKL1 (DCLK1) serine/threonine kinase or DCLK1 or doublecortin-like kinase 1 contains two N-terminal doublecortin domains (which bind microtubules and regulate microtubule polymerization), a C-terminal serine/threonine protein kinase domain (which shows substantial homology to Ca2+/calmodulin-dependent protein kinase), and a serine/proline-rich domain in between the doublecortin and the protein kinase domains (which mediates multiple protein-protein interactions). DCAMKL1 is a microtubule-associated kinase that can undergo autophosphorylation. DCAMKL1 has microtubule-polymerizing activity that is independent of its protein kinase activity. DCAMKL1 is involved in several different cellular processes, including neuronal migration, retrograde transport, neuronal apoptosis and neurogenesis.
