Eurofins DiscoverX Casein Kinase 2α Protein, Active
Description
Mammalian casein kinase 2α1 (CK2a1) is a highly conserved serine-threonine protein kinase that is constitutively expressed in all eukaryotic cell types including yeast, insects, and vertebrates. The enzyme can utilize GTP or ATP as a phosphate donor. Casein kinase activity is stimulated by mitogens in a cell type-specific manner during development and embryogenesis. Inhibition of CK2α1 may be useful in the treatment of human squamous cell carcinoma, adenocarcinoma of the lung, prostatic hyperplasia and lymphomas.
