Bleomycin Sulfate from Streptomyces verticillus, White powder

  • It is an atineoplastic antibiotic.
  • A mixture of cytotonic glycopeptide antibiotics which reacts with DNA and causes strand scission; they have also been shown to have a type of oxygen transferase activity. Bleomycin A2 is the main component of the bleomycin employed clinically.
  • Bleomycins differ from one another in the terminal amine and show varying biological activity.
