D,D,D-Trichlorotoluene is an intermediate, used exclusively in the industrial production of other intermediates such as Benzoylchloride, Benzotrifluoride and 2,4-Dihydroxybenzophenone. α,α,α-Trichlorotoluene is also used in determination of chlorinated toluenes in effluents of wastewater treatment plants and textile industries by closed loop stripping analysis.
