Invitrogen™ Phospho-IRS1 (Tyr1179) Polyclonal Antibody

Description
PA1-1060 detects phosphorylated IRS-1 (Tyr1173) in mouse and human cells. PA1-1060 has been successfully used in Western blot procedures. By Western blot, this antibody detects a ~170 kDa protein representing phospho-IRS-1 (Tyr1173) from 3T3 L1 cells treated with insulin. The PA1-1060 immunogen is a synthetic phosphopeptide corresponding to residues L(1173) E N G L N (pY) I D L D L V K(1186) of human IRS-1. This immunogenic sequence is 100% conserved in humans and chickens and 85% and 87% conserved in rat and mouse, respectively. The conserved phosphorylation site corresponds to residue Y1179 in human, Y1177 in chicken, Y1173 in mouse, and Y1172 in rat. This peptide (Cat. # PEP-205) is available for use in neutralization and control experiments.
