AEBSF is an irreversible serine protease inhibitor that has been shown to inhibit trypsin, chymotrypsin, plasmin kallikrein and thrombin. It is well suited for use in tissue culture media as well as in large scale purification of recombinant proteins, susceptible to proteolysis.
AEBSF is an alternative to PMSF, DFP and related organophosphate inhibitors.
