Acid-washed with an extremely low ash content of <0.01% for quantitative analysis and gravimetric applications. Macherey-Nagel™ MN 640 d Ashless Filter Papers, Round are smooth-surface filter papers that perform slow filtrations of moderately fine particulates.

Description
High quality ashless MN filter papers are manufactured from refined pulp and linters with a high level of α-cellulose (about 95%). Cotton linters are short-fiber seed hairs from cotton seeds, which cannot be used for textile purposes, but which are highly suitable for the manufacture of soft and absorbent filter papers. In addition to cotton linters, Macherey-Nagel uses mainly pulp, which is obtained by chemical treatment of plant materials, e.g. coniferous or deciduous wood.
- Applications: Routine quantitative analysis, gravimetric applications, enamel and glazes (alkali metal analysis), spot tests, sulfates fine crystalline analysis
- For slow speed filtration of moderately fine particulates (particle retention: 2-4μm +)
