A milestone birthday to celebrate, in 1964, Eppendorf's first centrifuge saw the light of day. This heralded the beginning of a long success story.
Let's take a look back at 60 eventful years: Eppendorf Zentrifuge model 3200 - behind this somewhat inconspicuous name was a revolution for laboratories all over the world; in German, Zentrifuge simply means Centrifuge. Together with the famous Eppendorf Tube from 1963 and the piston stroke pipette from 1961, this centrifuge completed the so-called "microliter system". This made it possible to process the smallest sample volumes and revolutionized the life sciences sector. Since then, an Eppendorf centrifuge has become an integral part of laboratories, a revolutionary set of instruments in many scientific disciplines that today defines the standard in research laboratories all over the world.
