The K-360 can be supplied either as a stand-alone manual instrument, or with a titration set to make the instrument semi-automatic when connected to an external titrator (many common types supported). For reproducible protein and nitrogen determinations the splash protector is crucial as it prevents loss of sample during distillation. Büchi offers two types: the proven see-through glass design and a new, highly resistant, type made of glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene for high sample throughput work. All internal and external components of the K-360 are easily accessed from the front. Dosing of boric acid, sodium hydroxide and water is automatic and the steam output can be continuously regulated from 30 to 100%. The K-360 can also be used for the determination of alcohol, sulfur dioxide, volatile acids, formaldehyde and phenols. An optional acid resistant pump is available for these applications.
