The TOPO XL PCR Cloning Kit protocol includes S.N.A.P.™ gel purification which employs crystal violet for improved efficiency of long PCR cloning. This eliminates the need for ethidium bromide and exposure to UV light, which can damage long PCR products and reduce the number of recombinants.
