DescriptionNeutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL; also called lipocalin 2, siderocalin and neutrophil lipocalin) is a member of the lipocalin family of proteins which bind and transport small lipophilic molecules. NGAL is released by activated neutrophils and occurs as 25-kDa glycosylated single protein chain monomers, which form dimers and small amounts of higher oligomers, as well as complexes with matrix metalloproteinase 9 (MMP-9; gelatinase B). Low level expression of NGAL in a variety of epithelia may be increased in inflammation or cancers. Expression of NGAL in the kidney is dramatically increased by acute kidney injury.
Host Species: Mouse
Cross Reactivity: Human
Immunogen: Human recombinant NGAL coupled to carrier and adsorbed to aluminium hydroxide gel.
Formulation: 200μL purified antibody (1mg/mL) in PBS and 15mM sodium azide; pH 7.4
Synonyms: Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin, HNL; p25, 25 kDa alpha-2-microglobulin-related subunit of MMP-9, Lipocalin-2, Oncogene 24p3
Uniprot Accession: P80188
Entrez GeneID: 3934
Gene Symbol: LCN2
Reactivity: ABS 062-14-02 binds human NGAL coated onto a solid phase. ABS 062-14-02 can be used as a detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with capture antibodies HYB 211-01-02, ABS 038-04-02, ABS 038-14-02, ABS 038-15-02, ABS 038-23-02, ABS 038-26-02 and ABS 062-33-02. When ABS 062-14-02 is used as a biotinylated detection antibody with capture antibody ABS 062-33-02, the assay is specific for the NGAL monomer, cross-reacting less than 1% with NGAL homodimer. NOTE: Concentration is lot-dependent and can vary from 0.85-1.15 mg/ml
