HSD17B6 Rabbit anti-Human, Polyclonal, Invitrogen™
Rabbit Polyclonal Antibody
Brand: Invitrogen PA528926
Code : PN
Additional Details : Weight : 0.01000kg
Description
PA5-28926 targets HSD17B6 in IHC (P) and WB applications and shows reactivity with Human samples. The PA5-28926 immunogen is recombit fragment corresponding to a region within amino acids 1 and 317 of Human HSD17B6. Store product as a concentrated solution. Centrifuge briefly prior to opening the vial. For short-term storage (1-2 weeks), product can be stored at 4°C. For long-term storage, aliquot and store product at -20° C or below, avioiding multiple freeze-thaw cycles.
The protein encoded by this gene has both oxidoreductase and epimerase activities and is involved in androgen catabolism. The oxidoreductase activity can convert 3 alpha-adiol to dihydrotestosterone, while the epimerase activity can convert androsterone to epi-androsterone. Both reactions use NAD+ as the preferred cofactor. This gene is a member of the retinol dehydrogenase family. Transcript variants utilizing alternative polyadenylation signals exist.Specifications
